Tribute Luncheon – A Celebration of Community Philanthropy

Tribute Luncheon serves as the Foundation’s annual celebration of philanthropy to honor the ongoing good works of civic leaders and volunteers for sharing their time, talents and financial resources in support of a better community.

Come alongside us as we honor community servants for their selfless service, giving hearts and generosity as we recognize their collective impact on countless charities and nonprofit organizations—enhancing the quality of life where we live and work.

Luncheon features include video tributes celebrating the impact of our honorees, recognition of an annual Community Champion for Business Giving, and a Philanthropist of the Day Raffle event.

Proceeds from this luncheon serve as an important funding source for the annual operational needs of a vibrant Community Foundation.

BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES

Brazos Valley Gives is an annual month-long giving event that culminates on the 3rd Tuesday of October – with 18-hours of on-line giving that brings the region together on one day and as “one community” to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley. Powered by the Community Foundation, Brazos Valley Gives provides citizens and businesses an easy platform to support the mission and “good works” of local nonprofit organizations that serve the Brazos Valley.

Over the past 5 years, Brazos Valley Gives has raised more than $4.7M+ for more than 287 nonprofit organizations and over 41,800 in volunteer service hours. During 2023, Brazos Valley Gives raised $1,454,920 in donations for 168 nonprofits. During 2022, donors rallied to surpass $1M in donations for the first time, raising $1,176,760 and donating 9,677 volunteer hours to support the good works of 161 nonprofit organizations. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, 136 nonprofits participated with 100% of the nonprofits receiving a financial benefit from the $801,462 that was raised. During our 2019 inaugural year, 103 nonprofits participated in Brazos Valley Gives and received $363,686.

Each participating nonprofit is eligible for incentive prizes. Last year, Brazos Valley Gives awarded more than $73,000 in sponsor prizes, and over the past 5 years, over $213,300 In incentive prizes have been awarded to participating nonprofits – thanks to the generous support of local philanthropists and community partners. This community giving day culminates with a Brazos Valley Gives Post-Celebration where nonprofits celebrate their success and incentive prizes are awarded.

Nonprofits from throughout the 7-county region of the Brazos Valley are invited to participate. Brazos Valley Gives empowers individual donors and business leaders to come together to support causes close to their hearts – and where a small donor can feel just as important as a large donor. This day of “giving where you live” is powered by the Community Foundation, and all donations pass-thru directly to the donor’s charity(ies) of choice.

Area nonprofits are invited to participate, and eligibility information is provided at brazosvalleygives.org/content/eligibility. If your nonprofit is interested in participating in Brazos Valley Gives, send an email to [email protected] or call 979.589.4305. Nonprofit registration begins in July/August annually. Visit brazosvalleygives.org to get a glimpse of last year’s successful gives day.
